The holy Divine, 4-letter name, known as the Tetragrammaton, or in Hebrew, Shem Havaya, (the Name of ultimate Being and becoming), forms from the acronym of the verse from Psalms 96:11,

״ יִשְׂמְח֣וּ הַ֭שָּׁמַיִם וְתָגֵ֣ל הָאָ֑רֶץ...״

“May the heavens rejoice and the earth be glad...”

This Divine Name has 12 possible letter combinations. The mystics teach that each month of the year receives Divine influence of character and blessing through the 12 different ways of forming these holy letters. Each month, according to its specific order of these letter, a verse is associated where the letters appear accordingly. These verses come to highlight the unique spiritual influence and serve hermeneutic purposes.

This verse from Psalms has the acronym of Yud, Heh, Vav Heh in its proper sequence that spells the Divine Name as written. This Name, together with this verse is associated with the first month of Jewish year, Nissan.

It therefore follows that like the first month of the year, which, according to the Torah, is the only month of spring, the month of freedom and the birth of Israel as a nation, this verse too is associated with the very same concepts of new beginnings, rebirth and revitalization.
