Ratzo

Original painting · 20″ × 20″ · Mixed media on canvas

Private collection.

Ratzo is the upward run of the soul, yearning to cleave to its Source. Centred on the Hebrew letter Yud, it is inspired by Ezekiel’s vision of the living creatures that “ran and returned”.

The movement pulses with longing and spiritual urgency: the first half of a rhythm completed by its companion piece, Shov.

Sources

“And the living creatures ran and returned (ratzo va’shov), like the appearance of a flash of lightning.” — Ezekiel 1:14

Would you like a painting like this, made for you? Every commission begins with a chevruta, a study session with the artist.

Commission a Painting

Each commission is an original, made by hand to your size, materials and idea: a verse, a Hebrew letter, a value or a Kabbalistic concept. Tell me what inspires you and the space it will hang in. We begin with a chevruta, in person or by video, studying the sources together, and the painting grows out of that learning. To ask about an available painting, mention its title.
