Hastara
Original painting · 20″ × 20″ · Oil on canvas
Private collection.
Hastara means “concealment”. This black and white textured painting represents divine hiddenness, and the spiritual darkness that often comes before revelation.
The white centre breaks through the black field, alluding to the hidden light of creation and the teaching that the greatest light emerges from darkness itself.

Commission a Painting
Each commission is an original, made by hand to your size, materials and idea: a verse, a Hebrew letter, a value or a Kabbalistic concept. Tell me what inspires you and the space it will hang in. We begin with a chevruta, in person or by video, studying the sources together, and the painting grows out of that learning. To ask about an available painting, mention its title.
