Connectivity
Original painting · 32″ × 24″ · Oil on canvas with raised silver leaf
Available, please inquire.
Connectivity explores the Hebrew letter ו (Vav), the letter of connection: the hook that joins heaven and earth. The raised silver Vav at the top right marks the descent of Chesed, divine loving-kindness, from the higher realms. Luminous vertical steps carry that flow downward, while the darker, textured strokes at the bottom left are the human return upward through refinement of the physical.
In Kabbalah, Vav, whose value is 6, stands for the six emotional Sefirot and the six directions of space. Spelled out in full, וו, it totals 12: the tribes of Israel and the months of the year.

Commission a Painting
Each commission is an original, made by hand to your size, materials and idea: a verse, a Hebrew letter, a value or a Kabbalistic concept. Tell me what inspires you and the space it will hang in. We begin with a chevruta, in person or by video, studying the sources together, and the painting grows out of that learning. To ask about an available painting, mention its title.
