Tefillin ![]() Tefillin are the glory of Israel. Talmud Sucah 25a The Mizvah (precept) of wearing Tefillin (phylacteries) is mentioned four times in the Torah within passages that describe fundamental concepts in Judaism: 1) The deliverance from Egypt (Ex. 13:1-10) 2) The giving of the Land of Israel ( Ex. 13:11-6) 3) The Shema Israel (statement of faith in God, (Deut. 6:4-9) 4) The Relationship to God that is strengthened when performing Torah precepts (Deut. 11:13-21) To honor and remember these concepts, we wear the Tefillin containing these hand-scripted passages in our daily prayers. It is a great mitzvah and privilege for every man from the age of thirteen on (bar mitzvah) to wear his own a pair of Tefillin. Ktav Tam works with qualified scribes from Israel and North America to provide our customers with the highest quality Tefillin. ![]() There is a price range of $425.00 - $1000.00 USD that varies with different scripts and qualities of the outside compartments (Batim).
