Parchment For thousands of years, parchment has been the medium of choice for scribes, calligraphers and bookbinders. Torahs, Tefillin , and Mezuzot require kosher parchment. Parchment (klaf) is made from animal skin (primarily cow) that has been cleansed and stretched to a supple finish; it comes in different colors.
