Collaborations

Jamie Shear has had opportunities to collaborate with highly talented Judaic artists. This section exhibits some of the resulting works.

Mindy Shear

Jamie is "blessed with a talented and an exceptionally special sister," Mindy Shear; with whom Jamie began his career in the Letter Arts. In 1997, Jamie and Mindy fully decorated the walls of a Shorer Gallery in Montreal, Canada with their show "Breishit, In The Beginning."

Mindy Shear holds a B.F.A., Art History / Studio Art from Concordia University where she studied fine art, graphic design, calligraphy and furniture painting. She works in many mediums infusing elements of design into furniture, decorative painting, canvas, ketubahs and ceramics. Mindy lived in Israel for two years where she studied ceramics in Jerusalem, and she continues to incorporate her love for Israel and Judaism in her work. She has participated in numerous group exhibitions and sold to private art collectors. Mindy's ceramics are achieved with slip casting and hand painting techniques for giftware, judaica, and tableware. Her work can be seen in fine stores in Montreal, Toronto, New York, Florida, and Israel.

Mindy is a colorist in all aspects of her work and she is influenced primarily by Expressionist, Impressionist, and Medieval art. Mindy has taught at the Saiyde Bronfman Centre, the Visual Arts Center, and has given private classes.

Today she organizes portable ceramic parties for kids and adults alike. Mindy can be reached at (514) 570- 2290 for further information.
